June 22, 2008
Just read this book , The Engineer’s Cookbook by Kari Ojala.
My bf gave this book as the present because I like cooking , I am an engineer and the cookbook explains finnish foods. He liked me know also them. And the book has a lot of finnish engineer humour that I don’t understand :(
my interesting is the backside of book wrote.
What kind of relationship does an engineer have with food? What does an engineer eat? How does he prepare a meal? How does he prepare a meal? How does he organise the varios stages of the cooking process the various stages of the cooking process? What drives him?
Technical men and women behave above all rationally. They solve problems and follow through. The guest of the engineer are always satisfied, the food is served on time, and nothing gets left over. Managing the whole is an intellectual challenge for the engineer and preparing food successfully gives him deep pleasure.

Was an interesting read for sure!! The engineer over rationalizes things. Can be good, but can cause a head ache sometimes..
